Biography
Roman Vasilenko at a glance
Roman Viktorovich Vasilenko (born 5 April 1969 in Leningrad) is an economist, entrepreneur, business coach and public figure. He grew up in a military family — both parents were naval-aviation officers of the USSR Navy — and spent his childhood in military garrisons. This early way of life shaped his habit of order, planning and pursuing long-term goals.
Patriotic projects
Since 2013 he has organised the annual «Officers' Ball», a cultural and patriotic evening for Victory Day featuring Heroes of the Soviet Union and of Russia, delegations from the Hero Cities and public officials. The event honours the memory of the country's defenders and fosters patriotism among young people.
Philanthropy
Since 2016 he has funded help for children with severe neurological conditions and related research, supporting the «Doctrina» clinical centre in St. Petersburg and the Valaam Transfiguration Monastery. Since 2017 he has been a patron of the «Dobrovidenie» festival; in 2020 he helped restore the Obelisk of Glory in Kerch; and since 2020 he has supported the youth hockey team «Life is Good» from Ufa. He is an honorary co-chair of the international Mercy Corps foundation.
Books, music and public life
He is the author of «Hunter for Success: How to Achieve Your Goal» («Piter», 2021), which presents his «12 Principles of Success», and of the earlier «Dream, Goal, Success of an Entrepreneur» (2015). He made the film «17 Secret Laws of Success» and wrote the lyrics and music of the song «Life is Good». His YouTube channel has gathered over 800,000 subscribers (a YouTube Silver Button), and his lectures have filled the country's largest venues, from the «Rossiya» concert hall to the «Gazprom Arena».

He is married and a father of four; he regards his family as his main support and achievement.

1986–1990: graduated from the Yaroslavl Higher Military Financial School named after Army General A. V. Khrulyov (faculty of financial support of the troops, specialty «Economist»), commissioned as a lieutenant; diploma No. TV 599947 of 19.06.1990.
1996–2010 — professional development: «Financial Services» (1996), «Financial Planning. Capital Formation. Financial Security» (1997), «Asset Management. Financial Planning. Asset Protection» (1998), «Investments. Insurance Techniques. Management» (2006), «Trading on International Financial Markets» and «Trading in Securities and Derivatives» (2010).
2015: defended a candidate's dissertation at SPbSUE («Strategies and mechanisms for developing affordable housing markets in the regions of Russia»), diploma No. 37/38 of 24.12.2015.
2016: Doctor of Economics — European Academy of Natural Sciences and European University (Hannover, Germany), diploma No. 021/16 of 12.04.2016.
2017–2020: Master's programme in law, Leningrad State University named after A. S. Pushkin.
Career and projects
1990–1998: head of the financial service of military unit 22966 (Leningrad Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet) — budget, pay and allowances, reporting. Discharged to the reserve as Captain 3rd Rank with the right to wear the military uniform.
1998–2009: civilian financial sector — from consultant to director; investments, insurance and private financial planning, including work at a Swiss consulting company.
Since 2009: founded the International Business Academy (IBA) in St. Petersburg (state educational licence No. 1901, 2016); a lecturer since 2017 and general director since 2018.
Since 2014: founder and chairman of the board of the «Best Way» housing cooperative (reorganised in 2021 into the Interregional Consumer Cooperative for the Improvement of Quality of Life «Best Way»); chairman of the board until February 2021 and chairman of the council from February 2021 to February 2022.
